Nancy Witcher Langhorne Astor (1879-1964), a native of Virginia, became Viscountess through her marriage to Waldorf Astor (1879-1952), 2nd Viscount Astor. John Stuart Dudley (1893-1966), author of Nancy Astor in Virginia and England was born in Florida, raised in South Carolina, and educated at the University of South Carolina and Harvard Law School.
